【The Epoch Times - July 18, 2023】 Flushing's Bowne Playground hosts a weekly "Greenmarket," offering locally grown fresh vegetables. On July 19th, an innovative outdoor art exhibition, the third installment of the "Museum without Doors" series, will take place at this market.

"Museum without Doors," introduced by artist Shih Pao Lin in 2020, aims to bring art beyond traditional galleries and museum spaces, integrating it into public and daily life areas, narrowing the gap between the public and art, and enriching community art culture. Starting this month, the Museum without Doors holds a monthly exhibition featuring new artists and their works. were all curated by Xinya Li, the Creative Director of S.P. Art.

Participating artists are two young emerging ceramic artists from Taiwan - Chia Hsuan Kuo and Pin Hsin Chu. Their themes respectively revolve around "Sleeping Wanderers and Their Dreams" and "Joyful and Imaginative Children."

Chia Hsuan Kuo graduated from the ceramics program in Taiwan's fine arts department, while Pin Hsin Chu graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at Tainan University of Applied Sciences. Both specialized in sculpture at the New York Art Students League. Chia Hsuan Kuo was awarded the "First Prize in the 19th Tokyo-New York Ceramic Competition." Pin Hsin Chu's works primarily focus on human emotions and childlike innocence. She participated in the "World Orchid Exhibition" jointly organized by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York and the Queens Botanical Garden and designed the visual art for the New Year edition of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York in 2021 and 2022.

The venue for the exhibition, the "Greenmarket," is provided jointly by the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce (GFCC) and the non-profit organization GrowNYC. While purchasing locally sourced, nutritious ingredients, attendees can also appreciate the works brought by various artists. Alice Lee, Operations Manager of S.P. Art, stated that besides focusing on dietary health, attention should also be given to mental well-being, noting, "Culinary culture is often driven by art, and enjoying an exhibition after a meal is a delightful experience."
